When I was just a little girl, but big enough to watch movies, I made a passion for French summer movies. They still are my favorite kind of movies. Beautiful young people falling in love, tan skin, summer clothes, peachy lips, long hair, Vespa, old convertible cars, the beach, the sea, the yachts, the fancy lifestyle. All these in a Côté d’Azur decore. For me those movies were the perfect escape from reality. I couldn’t imagine something better than that. It was the epitome of a perfect life.

I still remember the first time I was there, at the end of a summer. I had a cute white dress on, tanned skin, long hair, peachy lips. I didn’t drive a convertible or a vespa, nor did I fall in love, but I was so happy thinking at my childhood movies and feeling that I’m living that perfect life. Dreams do come true!

Living in Milano it’s an advantage for someone like me, who loves to visit that fancy neighbor, two times a year. I don’t even know when it became a tradition but it happens every year. And every single time it feels like I’m there for the first time! It doesn’t matter if it’s summer or winter, the excitement is the same. This was the first time there in December. A friend of mine and I, we celebrate birthday in the same week and we thought that would be great to put one more year in our calendar, in Monaco. Why not? There’s everything we need! The Casino ( we actually played ), fancy restaurants, Buddha Bar ( my favorite ), Cafè de Paris and during this time of the  year: the Christmas market!

We stayed at Marriott hotel. The best woke up ever. I could see the sunrise from my bed! The sun coming out from the sea! It was amazing!! After this epic scene, a building with a lovely terrace on the roof with different kind of plants on it and a structure made from glass and  golden baroque columns, caught my attention. With the seagulls flying over and the blue sky, that rooftop made me day dreaming of a house with the same exact terrace.

Even when I live the dream, I keep dreaming. Just like that little girl in love with French summer movies.
